A peaceful day. Hotter than yesterday. Lots of watering. In the cool of the potting shed we were busy preparing plants for the Novikov Summertime market on 24th June.

Dappled early morning light in the peach house. The combination of sweet peas, ripening peaches and strawberries smells amazing.

In the afternoon I spotted two little blonde heads bobbing through the box hedging. Peter’s Grandchildren, George and Annabel had come to see his amazing repair work in the chapel along with his daughter and wife. The children had just been planting hanging baskets at home. So good to see them enjoying the landscape, free as birds.

We’re off to the not so peaceful NEC for BBC Gardener’s World tomorrow.
